A little holiday at Ekka

Its Ekka day(public exhibition day). At the indoor area, vendors came out with innovative ways to capture profits. A very popular way to do that was to come up with goodie bag or "show bag" like what they called it. There are countless types them. Cadbury show bag, kitkat, Wonka, Pepsi, Surfer's boy, Nestle and more... Quite attractive! But i didnt commit myself to one ... Save 12-20 bucks ...
Oh ya, theres the Barnyard Babies section where we all had close encouter with baby donkeys, lama, ducklings, cow, sheep and chicks...
Estimate 10000 people crowded within the exhibition arena to celebrate this event. If you didn't set your expectations too high, you shpuld enjoy most events such as horse racing, motor- cross, bull riding... But everyone had been waiting for the fireworks. Indeed a finishing touch to Ekka... When i stepped in, i had been overwhelmed by the entire setting. Its nothing special... You probably look at it and call it a big fun fair like what i have expected. Yet its the mood that they filled in the air, they dressed up for their holiday and the whole city woke up much earlier than usual just to celebrate a mere exhibition day!
The girls were too excited with the board behind... Girls always have the thing for strawberries and chocolate which i have no clue... Just play along...
Oh... and soft toys which end up in most hideous area of homes-storeroom!
Another highlight would be the funfair vendors... nothings special with the games... Those are the same which invloves simple action of throwing darts, balls and hooks. Yet the vendors entreprenuership suggest otherwise. Joyce and Joycelyn got caught up with a vendor when he kept enticing them with extra tries and small gifts. In the end, they made quite a loss, financially... but its their mood that counts.
"You seemed to worry so much when i am there... even more when i am not around. Such a little, worthless asset afterall... So i send you these pictures to show you that i am alright... that you move on to heal yourself... and fight for ya happiness... i heard that horseshoe will bring luck so i had made one with your name on and hope it works even when its safe kept by me..."

Away but Feeling Lighter...

Ohhh... where did i stop? The last time i did mention i was struggling with my studies and been really busy with school work. (IDA if you see this, i am not like you who blog all the time! ;)
Week 3 went by and its week 4 now. Tmr is a public holiday and its something i want so bad... rest and relax! I will be spending some time at Ekka. Don't really feel like elaborating it so check out the website man!

This is not an organise blog nor are they own by an organise person. So as i go on i have some pictures to elaborate ... like a primary school boy doing an oral examination... It Aaron with me in the picture, he asked me to take a picture with him since i missed the welcome dinner by Union College(the place i am living). His 22 years-old single, available and very passionate about his home country-China, Wu Han. Yupp, his a buddy!

Yin Yin, Age undisclosable. She's from KL... A very caring neighbour from my floor... She likes to say that i am her benefactor... Ohh, she felt that there were no Asians around before she knew me!! Another buddy !!
If you are observant? Or curious enough you probably ask why are we wearing red. Because its national day and we are a bunch that misses home so bad. Teresa... Singaporean 21 from NUS, an exchange student in UQ. She will be leaving after one Semester! We will miss her... ...

The thing is that she stay at Potong Pasir which is damn near to my House la... I feel so home she starts talking...

Looking like a couple... Cooking in kitchen!! Did i mention cooking??? Well actually not... we don't cook as we are becoming overly dependent on Union Cook House ('cook house' army term), we were merely preparing for hotpot (steamboat). Its interesting as we replace conventional steamboat equips with rice cooker? Didn't know that rice cooker works like a steamboat too...We went shopping for groceries and spent about 120aud, borrowed approx 6 rice cookers...it took us a day!
Majority of us are Singaporeans. from left to right... Russell whose my housemate next semester is from Singapore (biotech student), Yin Yin from Malaysia (Master of Food), Si Min Spore(Tourism), Teresa Spore (Econs), Me, Fabian (a.k.a Singaporean leader doing engineering), Aaron China (Finance and Acct), Harry Australian (Medicine)... A national day celebrated outside!

Ohh, this is my first week when i walk around the Uni... It was a Sunday!! A good opportunity to explore since there were no one around!!!

Dad, Mum, Sis & Nuan... dun worry...
